Welcome to the PPPGA Professional Grooming Education Program. Our proposed training pathway is designed to develop practical grooming skills, responsible animal handling, professional knowledge, and ethical standards.
Our Training Programs
1. Foundation in Pet Grooming
Beginner Level – Designed for beginners and aspiring pet groomers.
Course modules:
- Introduction to the pet grooming profession
- Dog and cat behavior and body language
- Grooming tools and equipment
- Bathing, drying, and brushing techniques
- Basic hygiene and sanitation
- Introduction to nail, ear, and coat care
2. Professional Pet Groomer
Intermediate Level – Designed for groomers with foundational knowledge and practical experience.

- Breed coat types and grooming requirements
- Clipper and scissor techniques
- Breed-inspired and pet-style trims
- Coat dematting and maintenance
- Safe handling of difficult grooming situations
- Customer consultation and service documentation
3. Advanced Grooming & Salon Management
Advanced Level – Designed for experienced groomers, salon supervisors, and grooming business owners.

- Advanced scissoring and styling
- Complex coat management
- Grooming risk assessment
- Quality control and inspection
- Salon operations and staff management
- Customer service and complaint resolution
4. Cat Grooming Specialization
A specialized learning pathway focusing on feline behavior, low-stress handling, coat maintenance, safe bathing, mat removal, and recognizing when veterinary assistance is required.
Learning and Assessment
PPPGA training programs are intended to combine theoretical learning with supervised practical training.
Assessment may include:
- Online multiple-choice examinations.
- Practical grooming demonstrations.
- Animal handling and safety assessments.
- Final competency evaluation.
